An excerpt from the last will and testament of Alfred Cary, written days before he died in 1858. He stipulated that after his debts and funeral expenses were paid, the balance of his estate was to be liquidated by his executors to support his beneficiary, primarily the Episcopal Church and the Cary Collegiate Seminary.
